"Rod. Did you meet a man called the Doctor, in the other Atlantis, there?"
For a split second, Rod considers answering as Rodney would have done-- 'No, and I have more important things to do than answer your inane questions about men without proper names'-- but settles on "Well, no, but they had a Carson there."
He considers asking why, but John's told him enough about the files he's hacked into that he thinks he already knows, and Rose's countenance-- half-disappointed, half-wistful-- confirms it. He has a vague impression of looking past Rodney's shoulder to see a man looking awkward in BDUs, staring intensely at Rod through 3-D movie glasses across the mess, but he can't be certain, and he really does have more important things to do.
